As the glass platter form is mouth blown the Japanese foil which is applied hot spreads, embracing the principal of wabi-sabi. The foil is frozen in place as each piece is blown with differences caused by the heat & rotation of the glass. As the foil breaks up your eye follows the flecks, offering the viewer a moment of peace, self-reflection – a meditation.
